Cycling holidays with fresh mountain air
We offer hiking trails of varying lengths and levels of difficulty, trails that connect the roads and fantastic surroundings on the plateau. Are you travelling a long way, or just a short trip? Choose the route that's right for you and what you want for your trip. Add in a waffle stop, enjoy the views and farm life. Beautiful scenery, bustling bird life, animals on the pastures and fresh mountain air.

Around Tisleifjorden
The tour around Tisleifjorden is 38 kilometres long and covers relatively flat terrain around the fjord that borders Hallingdal and Valdres. The tour is suitable for both families and for training. The route consists of 36 kilometres of gravel road and a 2-kilometre-long floating trail that connects Golsfjellet with Lykkja. Opportunity for a break at Langestølen, enjoy something good to eat with a view of the fjord.
Tisleidalen around
This round trip is a medium to demanding hike of 41 km, which also gives you 3 short sections of trail. When you reach the highest point of the tour, Spekbakk at Nystølfjellet, you have an impressive view of the mountains around you. Here you look towards Jotunheimen, Hallingskarvet, Hemsedalsfjellene and Golsfjellet. Possibility of stopping at Øynebråten støl where they have their own café. Read more here
Golsfjellet round
The route around Golsfjellet is 30 km, signposted all around Golsfjellet. You cycle on a gravel road, through the cabin area and past old cottages. The tour offers views of Jotunheimen, Hemsedalsfjella, Reineskarvet, Hallingskarvet and Nystølvarden. Good roads and relatively flat terrain.
Little Golsfjell Roundabout
This tour is 20 kilometres long, with 15 kilometres on gravel roads and the rest on trails. The route offers views of Skogshorn in Hemsedal, a section on an old cart track and a fun descent down to Lauvsjøkrysset. The last part of the tour runs along Tisleifjorden, before you return to Oset.

Mjølkevegen
Birgit Haugen has written the book Mjølkevegen med avstikkere (Mjølkevegen with detours), which covers 15 fantastic cycling tours through Golsfjellet and Valdres.
The tours are described with text and images, as well as maps in elevation profile. 12 of the 15 tours can have a starting point at Oset. If some of the tours are too long, you can take your bike on the car to a suitable starting point. Or make the tour as long or short as you like by creating your own variation.
