The willingness to find solutions
In the summer of 1880, Guri and Peder Narum welcomed the first summer guests to the farm.
Time passes and a few guest rooms have evolved into what is now Oset Fjellhotell. All along, hospitality, delicious food, creativity and good business spirit have characterised the operation.
After 130 years, the hotel is still owned by the same family and is now run by the fifth generation, Gudrun and Per Jørgen.
Today, the hotel has 100 rooms, a swimming pool, conference facilities, restaurant, mountain bistro, frisbee golf course, outdoor sauna, lavvo for various events, and everything else you would expect from a hotel in this day and age. But most important of all is the service attitude and the willingness to find solutions for the benefit of our guests.
I'm proud to be the 5th generation to represent the hosts at Oset, together with my husband Per Jørgen and our boys Jørgen and Eirik. Since 1952, Oset's slogan has been "Come to Oset and be yourself" In the 1980s, it became more natural to write "Come to Oset and be yourself". I often hear our guests point out that "there's something about this hotel that makes you feel like you've come home..." That makes me feel that we've done something right. Our philosophy is that consideration and flexibility, or let me say generosity, should be the focus, in a warm and cosy atmosphere that invites you to enjoy your stay. We can point to a mountain hotel with solid operations for 130 years.
